Changes
Wednesday, October 29, 2003
11:17:00 PM - Anonymous
Change is a good thing, well sometimes, at other times change could really suck. Earlier today Shane and I were talking about the changes that will be made when we move into the new wing next semester, we both want things to stay the same but unfortunately they won't be. I went to a meeting after lunch and all the staff involved with the change was there, well most of the staff anyway. It was scary to hear some of the things that are going to be happening, but that's life, once you get used to one way everything changes. For now I am going to enjoy the time that is left and hope that the change next semester is gradual instead of swift.

Busy Week
Thursday, October 23, 2003
7:24:00 PM - Shane
As the title states, it's been a busy week. I had and exam last Friday and on this past Wednesday. I have another Thursday. But on another note, I finally had a good night's sleep yesterday night. The doctor gave me some sleeping pills and I've been sleeping like a baby. He says that I'm suffering from borderline exhaustion from all the stress that I have endured in the past year. I have a feeling everything will be okay....say in two weeks.
Anyway, I just finished the script for the new comic and we'll be shooting it Saturday and hope to have it up on Monday. Matt, from the on hiatus S.T.L.E., has been helping us out a lot lately and I would like to thank him very much for helping us out lately. (on a side note: Paul Heyman has use been named the new Smackdown general manager...man he has lost weight.) On top of that, Chris and I have been mulling over the idea of possible starting a features section and expanding the comic to more about campus life as well. We have to see what the rest of the staff has to say about it.
On to some more light news, the Circ gang will be at the next UH football game against the number ranked 14 (#15 AP, #13 ESPN/USA) TCU. I would like to tell those 60 brave men from the team that, on behalf of the Circ gang, Good luck on this very important game against the Horned Frogs.
Until next time, here are some links.

Ramblings
7:15:00 PM - Anonymous
I am struggling to find the words that I want to write down, sometimes I know just what I want to write and then when I sit to write it I forget everything. I am tired most of the time, I stare into space at work but always make sure that I finish everything first, sometimes to the point of being paranoid and finding something to do so that Beth doesn't think that I am lazy. This morning for example I was in bed not wanting to wake up, the only thing that forced me to wake up was the fact that if I slept any longer I wouldn't get a parking space in the faculty/staff lot. I need to recharge, the only day that I can have fun at work and not worry so much is on Saturday, sure there is work to do but I know that everyone that works will do their part to make sure it gets done. I have no idea why I am rambling on like this, I wanted to post something but didn't have a specific thing I wanted to write on. Anyway character pages will be done soon and also look for a new comic within the next week or so.

Pictures from last Friday's party: http://www.circcomics.com/pictures (too lazy to make an actual page now).
Donovan, your new user icon is online.
It's a beautiful night out, I wish I was doing something, Courtney invited me to a party but I am way too tired and I actually want to be awake tomorrow at work and during the game. I am talking to my friend Brenda right now, tempted to make cookies in a little. Listening to some Death Cab For Cutie, thanks to Abrahm for recommending them, and the other bands I listen to now (Her Space Holiday, The Postal Service, etc). Anyway I think I will make some cookies, or should I eat the cookie dough (Shane would want me to do that), decisions decisions...

State of the Site
Thursday, October 16, 2003
9:36:00 PM - Shane
Hey all,
I know that it been a while since I've posted here. I've been doing a lot of work with school and the band. On top of that, Chris and I have been working on the comic and stuff for the site itself. We should be shooting a new one this weekend and it should feature the newest member of our brotherhood. (Can we still call it a brotherhood...we do have a girl and 'brotherhood' isn't really P.C.....f**k it.)
Anyway, until we get the new comic up in a few days, here is the current strip.
P.S. Support your cougars this Saturday when they take on Memphis in C-USA action. Most of the Circ gang will be there.

That was the old me, bitter and lonely...

First of all I'd like to wish Raymond a very happy birthday before this day actually ends. Secondly, damn Yankees, now they have a chance to go to the World Series tomorrow afternoon, come on Boston, take it to a Game 7! Speaking of Game 7, the Cubs and the Marlins will play one since the Marlins bounced back after being down 3-1 to even the series at 3 games apiece.
Sports aside, I saw an old friend earlier today, actually she was my prom date 5 years ago, I hadn't seen her in 4. This got me thinking about high school, talk about some fun times, but also some missed opportunities. I hate dwelling in the past but sometimes it's good to go back and learn from past mistakes. Anyway I should be doing some sleeping soon, tomorrow is a new day with new opportunities, but all I really want to do is take some days off, I may do that soon.

New Comic Is Up
12:53:00 AM - Anonymous
The second comic is now online, and we are throwing out ideas about future ones, I just hope that it doesn't take a month to get the next one out. I did some work on the website, the page that looks the most different is the Contact page. I have no idea how I did that, but I am glad it turned out so well. I am so glad I don't work Mondays, I don't think I would have been able to come in. It's not that I don't feel well, it's that I need a lot of sleep since I hadn't slept much this past week. I am going to crash in a few minutes and then when I wake up I have the fun task of laundry to complete. Anyway, enjoy the second comic, register and post on the forum, and give us ideas (we can use them).

Best Sleep Ever
Sunday, October 12, 2003
10:21:00 AM - Anonymous
I slept for 10 hours last night, and I have to tell you those were the best 10 hours ever. Abrahm called me twice and Virginia IM'ed me, so I'll have to get back to them after church and cleaning. I also plan to see if I can do some more work on the site, and if you're lucky I should have the second comic up by late tonight. I'm going to have to ask Shane what he wanted me to do again for the comics, I totally forgot. Other than that things are good, I have tomorrow off but that will be spent doing laundry that I neglected and catching up on more sleep. I better get going, everyone is ready to go.

This is the sound of settling

Tonight is the big party, we are going to have a lot of fun, and yes Donovan is coming after all! I overslept this morning which is weird since I never oversleep on Fridays, then again with all the rain we have had and making Abrahm a mix CD I was up pretty late. Things are slow here at work which is good, I have a lot to catch up on. I feel like eating some Chinese food for lunch, I may have to trek over to Chinese Star later on.
On to CircComics news, I've been making changes to the site, little ones but changes nonetheless. Abrahm is leaving and that is sad, but it will only be for a couple months and I think we'll be able to survive. Just because Abrahm will be in Plano doesn't mean that he'll not work on CircComics, he will write about his tales in Plano. In the meantime, Virginia will be taking his place on Saturday, and speaking of Virginia I would like to officially welcome her to the CircComics staff! Hopefully once I setup her blog and e-mail that she'll be posting on here like everyone else.
I hope that the party tonight goes well, from what I hear a lot of people are scheduled to show up, and now that the sun is out I hope it's dry enough outside so that we can go out and not be stuck indoors. I'll end this today wishing Abrahm good luck as he travels home tomorrow, we'll miss you!

Cross-posted from my LiveJournal (written 10/8/03 at 3:39p)

At work, freezing, thinking how great it would be once that clock hits 5p. The day is flying even though at periods it seems very slow. I just want to go home, watch the baseball games, and relax. I think I am in a rut again, the cycle goes like this: wake up, go to work, get lunch at 1, work some more, go home, watch sports or mess online, then sleep to start the cycle over again. I would love to break it, go out and have fun, unfortunately there is something called money and I don't have enough of it, or hardly any at all. One day though, the cycle will end, I will have enough money and will spend it without having to worry about a budget. For now though that is wishful thinking.
Even though I wrote that yesterday it rings true for every weekday that I work. I need a break, a long extended break. I may take my vacation soon, then again I want to save up the days for when I really need them. I have a lot of thinking to do...

Car = Necessary Evil!
Monday, October 06, 2003
4:08:00 PM - Anonymous
I spent over 450 dollars today, why is that? That is because I had to take my car in for it's 45000 mile service, bleh! I also found out that I needed to get new tires, so that's where most of the money went to. It seems that ever since I got this car I am shelling out a lot more money for it, of course that is what happens when you get one, ask Raymond. Speaking of Raymond, congrats on finally getting your license, now you can do things without being afraid of the man (oh sorry, remembering lines from School of Rock). Anyway I love my car, it's a lot better than taking the bus that's for damn sure, I just have to remember that since I have the car, I can't spend freely. By the way Raymond, I'll think of a way to advertise CircComics in the library, I think I know how I am going to do it too.

NaNoWriMo
Thursday, October 02, 2003
10:16:00 PM - Anonymous
What is NaNoWriMo you ask? Well it is short for "National Novel Writing Month", it is 30 days of reaching a goal of 50,000 words, it happens every November. Why am I writing about this you ask? That is because this year I am going to participate. I know I will probably fail miserably but I think it would be a fun thing to do, and also I'll get to meet some cool people in the process. I suggested to Abrahm that he do it since he is an English major and will probably benefit from doing it, and now I will suggest it to you also dear reader. If you want to be a writer or just want to challenge yourself you should do this. For more information go here: http://www.nanowrimo.org.
